Deposit Anywhere allows you to deposit cheques through our mobile banking app by taking a photo of them and submitting them to our financial institution, anywhere, day or night.

Deposit Anywhere is available in our mobile banking app, available for Apple® and Android®.

How do I use Deposit Anywhere? Expand/Collapse

Depositing a cheque with Deposit Anywhere is easy. Open up our mobile banking app, tap the “deposit” button, select the account you’d like the funds deposited to, enter the amount, take a photo of the front and back of the cheque, confirm the details and tap “submit”. The funds will then be deposited securely into your account.

Are there any fees for using Deposit Anywhere? Expand/Collapse

No. There are no fees to use this service- it's part of our free mobile banking app.

What types of cheques can I draw on? Expand/Collapse

You can deposit cheques payable in Canadian Dollars and drawn at any Canadian financial institution. They must be payable to, and endorsed by, the account holder.

Eligible items include:

  • Regular Cheques
  • Money Orders (bank issued)
  • Bank Drafts/ Primary Orders
  • Certified Cheques*

Non-eligible items include:

  • US Funds Cheques
  • US Cheques
  • US Drafts
  • Traveler's Cheques
  • Savings Bonds
  • Money Orders (postal, ie. Canada Post)

*Certified cheques may or may not always work due to variances in how they are prepared and issued from the issuing financial institution. You may still come to any branch to deposit these items like normal.

How will I know if there is an issue with my deposit after I submitted the cheque? Expand/Collapse

In the rare circumstance that there is an issue with the deposit after you receive confirmation during the deposit, you will be contacted by us.

Do I have to mail or drop off the cheques after I deposit them? Expand/Collapse

No. Once you have submitted a cheque with Deposit Anywhere, you do not need to send the cheques to the branch. Write "deposited" across the front of the cheque and store it somewhere safe for up to 90 days, then you may destroy your cheque.

What happens if I enter the wrong amount by mistake? Expand/Collapse

Sometimes mistakes happen. But not to worry, we will double check all the information to ensure the right amount is deposited quickly and securely into your account. If you do have any questions about the cheques you submit, simply contact us and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Can I use the funds right away? Expand/Collapse

Funds deposited through Deposit Anywhere may be subject to a holding period of 5 days. Your balance will be updated to reflect the deposited funds, but you must wait the holding period before those funds are available to use.

Is depositing cheques with a mobile phone safe? Expand/Collapse

Yes. As a feature of our mobile banking app, Deposit Anywhere meets the same high standards and levels of security as our mobile and online banking services.
